Fundraiser Held for RIFA
One Jackson church is doing its part to help many of the area’s families just in time for the holidays. Members of Jackson’s Love and Truth Church spent Wednesday evening collecting canned goods to donate to the Regional Interfaith Association to help feed many area families. Organizers of the collection drive said they felt spearheading this effort was a way to reach out to the community. “It’s a huge opportunity for us to give back and just be a part of whatever the needs are in the community, ” said Randy Moffett, executive pastor of Love and Truth Church in Jackson. ” Whatever people have need of, (it’s) just a great opportunity for us to be a part of that.” In addition to the canned goods, church members also collected toys to donated to Area Relief Ministries for needy children to make sure they would have a gift under the tree come Christmas morning.
