Local Funeral Homes Keep Memorial Book For Newtown Victims

BOLIVAR, Tenn- One local funeral home has a way for area residents to show their sympathy and concern for the families of the victims killed in the Newtown, Connecticut shooting. Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar is encouraging residents to sign a registry that will be sent to the families of the Newtown school victims. Shackelford officials said the community support has been overwhelming and so far more than one hundred residents in the area have signed the book. “This is something that touched everybody,” said Jeff Shackelford, president of Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar. “We just feel it’s a way for folks in our community to express themselves and even in a small way to get the word to folks letting them know that they are not alone in their grief.” Residents can sign the registry until December 25.
