A full departmental review is underway at the Selmer Police Department after a patrolman was arrested in Chester County and charged for domestic assault this weekend. Neighbors said they were shocked to hear about the incident. “I looked out the window and there were a bunch of cop cars. So I didn’t think nothing about it. I mean, I thought they was having a little get together,” said next door neighbor Emily Wilson. Police arrested and charged Selmer Patrolman Jeremy Wilson with domestic assault. “I’ve never would have thought that would happen; he just seemed like that type of person to me,” said Emily Wilson. According to court records, Officer Wilson and his wife got in to an intense argument about his alleged drinking. That is when officials said Wilson threatened to take the children and hurt his wife. “I was shocked anything like this would happen cause they just seem so happy and like a real happy family,” Emily Wilson said. Reports show the patrolman grabbed his wife, twisted her arms, and wrist, but stopped after his son intervened. Emily Wilson said she knows the family well and baby sat for the Wilsons. She also said he is a great officer and has been the perfect neighbor. “He’d give you anything and give you the shirt off his back. You know? He’s that type of guy to me,” said Emily Wilson. Despite the neighbor’s good words, some Selmer residents say the incident is disappointing. “Really i don’t have any confidence in them. [Selmer Police] .I really don’t they’re here to serve the people but a lot do what the people do,” said one Selmer Resident.
