From Henderson County, a son is facing charges of stealing a purse and hundreds of dollars from his mother. Investigators said Matthew McIntyre, 21, of Finger is charged with theft of over $500 in the case. The man’s mother told investigators that her son, Matthew and another relative were at her home last Friday for a visit. After the two left, the woman noticed that her purse containing more than $500, drivers license and insurance cards were missing. The victim said she was distracted when the purse was apparently taken from behind her recliner. According to a statement from Matthew McIntyre’s wife, her husband did take a purse belonging to his mother. “Allegedly, Mathew had stolen from his mom previously repeated times. She never reported it and finally enough is enough,” said Captain Tracey Grisham with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department. McIntyre is currently on probation and investigators said they plan to issue an additional warrant for violation of community corrections.
