Dresden Police Investigate Homicide

Police are investigating the murder of a Weakly County woman, with their suspect still on the lose. According to Dresden Mayor Danny Forrester, a woman was shot and killed around 9, Sunday night in her apartment on Highway 118. One neighbor said she heard three loud bangs coming from the next apartment over. She said she went over to check on the woman and found her dead and called 911. At this point, police said no one has been arrested in the case. Investigators said the victim’s body has been taken to Nashville for an autopsy. “I was fixing to head to bed. I walked in the bathroom. I seen blue lights flashing out my bathroom window and looked outside and seen a cop there and an ambulance pull up, ” said neighbor Gary Laird. “I thought maybe someone might of had a heart attack down there and I came down and asked what happened and they told me that’s when she was shot.” Police are looking for a male suspect.
