Workers Prepare for Seaport Airlines at MKL
Those who will work with a new commercial airline are getting ready to serve customers. Their training took place at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport in West Madison County. The new workers are being trained by representatives from Seaport Airlines. Seaport will begin service on January 22 with two daily round trips Monday through Friday between Jackson and Memphis. A single round trip to both Nashville and Memphis will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday. “If there’s a delay we’ll know what it is,” said Steve Smith, director of the Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority. “If there’s a issue at one of the destinations whether it be Memphis or Nashville we’ll know what that issue is and we’ll be able to communicate it to the passengers.” To launch the service, Seaport is offering an introductory fare of $29 through Valentines Day.
