Deputies Charge Man in Theft Caught on Tape

Investigators said a 7 Eyewitness News viewer is credited with catching a shoplifter who is accused of stealing from the BP in Parkers Crossroads. After surveillance video aired last Friday calls started coming in to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department. Kenneth Carney, 46, of Jackson now faces a theft charge. Henderson County deputies said Carney confessed to stealing form the convenience store, telling them he did so because his kids had gotten nothing for Christmas. Officers said some of the stolen property has been recovered.
