A Jackson man accused of trying to kill his mother for a second time returned to court Thursday morning. Marvin Allen waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused in a September attack on his 69-year-old mother. In 2000, he was convicted in her attempted murder. In the most recent incident, she told police while in her apartment, Allen began punching her in the face and head. The trauma caused bleeding on her brain. Allen remains jailed in lieu of $200,000 bond.
