Jackson Man Charged with Drug Possession, Filing False Report

JACKSON, Tenn. – A Jackson man has been arrested after police said he lied about a shooting in the eastern part of the Hub City. Police said they responded to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital around 10:30 p.m. Friday night after Brian Johnson, 25, told them he was shot in Lincoln Courts, but they soon learned he actually shot himself. Johnson had a gunshot wound to his thigh. Police said they are charging Johnson with filing a false police report, tampering with evidence, and possession of crack cocaine. He was arraigned Saturday morning on $10,000 bond.
