Man Charged with Having 16 Pounds of Pot

Carroll County officials said they have taken a hefty amount of drugs off the streets along with the man they believe intended to sell it. Thursday evening multiple agencies in Carroll County intercepted a package containing nearly 16 pounds of marijuana. It was delivered to a Huntingdon home where officers took Jared McCord into custody. Officials said the drugs are worth at least around $15,000 at street value. They also said McCord is well-known by law enforcement and he likely supplied to other smaller scale dealers in the area. “It’s huge. It’s not often that you deal with taking one pound of marijuana off the street at a time much less to be able to take off 15 pounds plus at one arrest,” said Sheriff Andy Dickson. Officials told 7 Eyewitness News McCord is actually currently out on bond following an arrest near Nashville where three pounds of marijuana was found in his car. He is, at last check, in custody of Carroll County Sheriff’s Department on a $50,000 bond.
