Cub Scouts Learn about Law Enforcement
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department was filled, Monday night with Tiger Cubs. A whole pack of them. Pack 205, to be exact. The young Cub Scouts and their families visited the department as the young men work toward their badge requirements. They were able to talk with a dispatcher and investigators, as well as visit the department’s holding cell and see a drug dog in action. “It gives the kids an opportunity to see the good side of the law enforcement but it also shows them the negative that is out there, to allow them to see exactly what it is we are trying to do, said Deputy Jason Krause of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. This visit is part of the Cub Scouts’, “Go See It” requirement. They have also visited a fire department, farm and have gone on nature hikes as part of this requirement.
