Local Celebrities Practice for Charity Game
Some of the area’s best athletes and most familiar faces are gearing up to take on the Talent Troupe of the Harlem Ambassadors to raise money for the Jackson Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. Tuesday night, the local athletes too to the court to practice for the Harlem-style matchup, including 7 Eyewitness News’ Adam Wells, Brittany Patterson and Mike McEvoy. Organizers said the game will include two periods of entertaining play and two of competitive play, where local athletes square off with the Harlem Ambassadors. “I’ll just do what I do I guess, and I’m sure they will bring what they bring and it’s just a fun thing…everybody coming together,” said Josephine Owino, a participant in the charity event. The game tips off Tuesday night, February 7 at 6 p.m. at Union University. Tickets range from $10 to $12.
