Statistics on Violent Crimes on Lane Campus

Statistics from the Jackson Police Department show violent crimes on school property at Lane College have increased over the past five years. Violent crimes include acts like murder, rape, aggravated assault and robbery. There was only one violent crime on campus in 2007 and 2008, two in 2009 and five each in 2010 and 2011. In 2007 and 2009, the single on campus violent crime reported to Jackson police was an aggravate assault. In 2009, records show there was an aggravated assault and a robbery. In 2010, there were four aggravated assaults and one robbery. And last year, there was an aggravated domestic assault, an aggravated assault and three robberies.
