Climer Murder Case Set for Re-Sentencing

The man convicted in Gibson County of murdering his mother, then mutilating her body with a saw has had his first degree murder conviction thrown out. But David Climer is not off the hook. He returned to court this week so a new sentencing hearing could be set. Though the court of criminal appeals said there was not enough evidence to support a first degree murder conviction, the panel said there was enough evidence to warrant a second degree murder conviction, which was also an option for the jury. Climer’s new sentencing date is April 2.
