Fatal Car vs. Train Wreck In Brownsville
A crash between a car and train in Haywood County left two West Tennesseans dead Friday night. Brownsville officials are still investigating how it happened. Brownsville Police Chief Chris Lea said the crash happened just after 4, Friday afternoon in Brownsville at the intersection of Boyd and College. Police are still investigating how the CSX Train and car carrying two people collided. Officials said when they arrived, they found the car upside down and lying nearly 30 feet away from the intersection. According to CSX officials, the freight train was puling 49 cars and was traveling from Memphis to Bruceton. Anthony Mitchell, 30, and Anita Rochelle Williams, 22, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
