Demolition Begins on Remainder of Collapsed Building
Exactly three weeks after a deadly building collapse in downtown Greenfield, demolition on the building has begun. Though they were slowed by the winter weather, building owner Keith Tucker told 7 Eyewitness News crews began working Monday, tearing down what remained of Legend’s Little Italy Pizzeria. The building collapsed on January 23, killing Renardo Jackson, 32 and injuring his cousin Kevin Davis, 33. Engineers determined the likely cause of the collapse was a combination of jarring from nearby digging along with high winds and rain the night before. Demolition could only begin after OSHA approved the plans.
