Northwest TN Prepares For Potential Blizzard

DYER COUNTY, Tenn. – Dyer County Highway Department trucks are prepped and ready to protect the roads from snow and icy rain. Local residents said they’re also getting ready for a snowy night. “I bought all the batteries on the shelf so just for flashlights and new toys primarily that was my original reason but then I thought I might as well get a few extra,” said Gregory Douglas. One resident said the electricity went out right when the storm was beginning. “We have had snow a few times and had electricity go out before but we make do and do what we can,” said Forrest Harrison. Douglas said thankfully the holiday season results in lots of cooking so they will have plenty of food if roads are closed. “We‘ve got enough leftovers from the last couple of days to tide us over in case we can’t get out so we should be good on that end.”
