New Exhibit Highlights Deaf School
A new online exhibit in the Tennessee Virtual Archive highlights the architectural history of the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville.
The digital exhibit features images of the unique buildings on the school campus, many of which were designed in the 1920s by architect Thomas Scott Marr. Marr was deaf himself and a graduate of the school.
As with other virtual archive collections, the photographs, sketches and postcards in the exhibit are pieced together from a number of the State Library and Archives’ manuscript collections.
The collection can be accessed at http://teva.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/landingpage/collection/p15138coll11 .
