Parent Arrested after Distubance at North Side HS

A woman was arrested at North Side High School after she allegedly caused a disturbance, Wednesday morning. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the School Resource Officer at North Side was notified that a parent was being disruptive near the office building in the middle of campus. A news release stated the investigation revealed that Yvette Owen Thomas, 46, of Jackson, entered the school demanding to see a teacher. When her request was denied, she reportedly became disruptive and started using profanity. The Resource Officer asked her to leave the campus, and when she refused, the deputy took her into custody. Yvette Owen Thomas was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. She appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I Thursday morning and posted a $500.00 bond. Her preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 26, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I.
