Local high school students got a break from class today for a chance to sing and dance to some of the most popular songs on the radio. The Army rock band charmed North Side High School students with a concert as a part of their tour in support of the Chief of Public Affairs of the Pentagon. The six member band is called the Volunteers. They travel around the country performing at high schools and also performed for the troops in Kuwait and Iraq. Lead singer Randall White said touring with the band is like riding a roller coaster. “When were at work out here on the road it is full on. Right now were at the tail end of a 31 day tour. That is spanned over 4,000 miles,” said White. The band invited students on the stage to sing and dance with them. White said students are blown away when they see the band perform.
