SCORE Holds Teacher Evaluation Roundtable
Dozens of local educators gathered in north Jackson to ask questions and voice their concerns about Tennessee’s new teacher evaluation system. The state Collaborative on Reforming Education or SCORE held its 9th Regional Roundtable on the campus of Union University., Tuesday. Tennessee is in the first year of implementing a new teacher evaluation system. The purpose of the meetings is to gather input on both the challenges and successes of the new system. “A critical part of implementing things is getting robust and constant feedback from the folks who are actually implementing it and that’s the teachers in the classroom every day. that’s the principals in schools every day,” said David Mansouri of SCORE. Following the feedback process, SCORE will compile their findings in a report for the state Board of Education and Department of Education To learn more about the teacher evaluation feedback process, look for the link in the Seen on 7 section of www.wbbjtv.com.
