Vigil Held For Bain Family
Hundreds of West Tennesseans gathered in Bolivar Tuesday night, calling for the Bain sisters’ safe return. Authorities are still looking for Kyliyah, 8, and Alexandria Bain, 12 after investigators said they were kidnapped from their Whiteville home almost two weeks ago. The girls’ teammates, friends and community members held a prayer vigil to raise awareness about their disappearance, hoping the girls will make it home soon, and safely. It was just last year that Kyliyah was playing softball with her teammates, but now they said they just hope she is alive. “I’m really sad and I just hope they get home safe,” said Shelby Woods, Kyliyah’s former teammate. “I pray every night for them and I just hope they get home.” Hundreds of people gathered at the Bolivar softball fields, Tuesday night, calling for both Kyliyah and Alexandria Bain’s safe return. Investigators said they were kidnapped by Adam Mayes April 27. “It’s so sick. Why is he doing this?” said Makayla Dorris, Adrienne Bain’s former teammate. “[Adrienne] was such a sweet girl. She was so sweet on our softball team. She would never hurt anybody. She’s just a regular kid.” Friends of the girls wrote notes to them, and wore green to show support. They said the whole community is devastated. “My heart goes out to the family,” said Tootie Woods, Kyliyah’s former softball coach. “Mr Bain’s been through so much now, and my heart bleeds for them, it bleeds for the whole family.” And they all hope authorities find the girls, and can bring them home soon. “I pray [Kyliyah]’s OK, and I pray that the 12-year-old, the other one, I pray she’s OK too. I hope they’re in a safe place,” Woods said. Authorities said there is a $50,000 reward for information leading them to Adam Mayes and the safe return of Alexandria and Kyliyah Bain.
