Attempted Murder Suspects Arrested

Two men arrested in Gibson County and accused of assaulting their co-worker have been charged. Luis Lopez and Hector Godinez were arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder. Sunday night, Milan Police officers said they responded to a call concerning an assault. When they arrived, a man told police he was drinking beer with Lopez and Godinez at his home when the two men are accused of jumping him and cutting him with a broken beer bottle. Officers said the victim had major lacerations on his head and neck, upper wrist and the left side of his ribs. He was flown to The Med in Memphis for treatment. Investigators said both Lopez and Godinez had minor cuts and bruises. It is unclear when the two will appear in court on the attempted murder charge.
