Teenager Killed in Golf Cart Accident

Authorities say a Williamson County teenager was killed when the golf cart he was riding in crashed into a brick-encased mailbox. Tennessee Highway Patrol spokeswoman Dalya Qualls says that the accident occurred around six p.m. on Wednesday. She said four teenagers – all under sixteen – were riding down a steep hill on the golf cart when its right rear tire blew out, causing the cart to go sideways and hit the mailbox. The teenager killed was fifteen years old. His name has not been released. Qualls said the others suffered serious injuries and were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
