A Madison County deputy has resigned amid an investigation into alleged abuse of prescription drugs. According to the sheriff, Deputy David Brandon Dorris resigned rather than face an internal investigation. However, he did consent to a drug test. The sheriff said those results are pending. “The investigation indicates that he had gotten the prescription drugs without a prescription, he did state that he had recieved some from family members and some from a person that he did not want to identify,” said Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has a zero tolerance drug policy that has been in effect since September 2005. Dorris had been employed with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department Since August 2004.
