Brownsville Celebrates Blues Heritage with Music Festival
The sound of blues music filled the air Saturday evening in Browsville. The city hosted the Exit 56 Blues Festival this weekend. It was a family affair featuring local and regional musicians who performed on the porch of the home of blues pioneer Sleepy John Estes. Those attending also enjoyed an arts and crafts show and exhibition. Organizers said the event was a great way to kick off the holiday weekend. “I think everybody is having a wonderful time. It’s a little hot, but when you have good music, that doesn’t matter,” said West Tennessee Delta Heritage Director Sonia Clark.
