Pat Summitt to Receive Tigrett Award

Legendary coach Pat Summitt received the Congressional Medal of Freedom from President Obama on Tuesday. Now, a group from West Tennessee has announced plans to honor her again. Pat Summitt will be given the Tigrett Award at this year’s West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation’s Charity Gala. The Tigrett Award, first presented in 2006, was established to honor Jackson native, John Burton Tigrett. The award served to recognize a Tennessean who has greatly contributed to society through his or her talents and leadership locally, nationally and abroad. The Charity Gals is scheduled for Saturday, November 10.
