JMC School Board Requests Funds for more Technology
There is a new technology that can be expected to come to all high school students in Madison County. The Jackson-Madison County School Board asked the county commission for an additional $700,000 to fund the placement of Promethian boards. Promethian boards are educational interactive tablets students can use in conjunction with their teacher’s lesson plan. School officials said the new technology is currently used in some schools but not in all of them. “The funding from the county allows us to give equity to that it allows us to establish a certain level of technology in the classrooms across the district. which we believe is a very good thing,” said Supt. Buddy White with the Jackson-Madison County School System. School officials predict the tablet will be available for all students within the next two or three years.
