Its reported that a sport utility vehicle hit 24-year-old Chasity Elaine Thornell and 45-year-old Nelzon A. Soto, both of Knoxville. Police said Soto was helping Thornell whose car broke down in front of his house at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday. Both victims were standing beside the road when they were struck. Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said police found the SUV they believe was involved and a man they believe was driving at a Knoxville home Wednesday afternoon. The man had already hired an attorney and was not arrested. Police withheld his name because no charges were yet filed.
