Bank Employee Sentenced for Fraud
A former bank employee has been sentenced to three months in prison and five months on home confinement for stealing $43,000 A news release from the U.S. attorney’s office says 28-year-old Jennifer White of Forest was sentenced Wednesday in in U.S. District Court in Jackson for stealing money from Community Bank’s operations center in Brandon. After the home conferment, she’ must serve five years on supervised release and part restitution. Authorities say she transferred money from the insufficient funds account into her personal bank account, and concealed her fraud by including false descriptions with each transaction to make them appear to have been made by other bank employees.
