JACKSON, Tenn.-A Valentine’s Day tradition continued Thursday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Treasure, 9, along with her little brother, Gregory handed out stuffed animals to young patients at the hospital, known as “Treasure’s Love Day.” As a premie, she had lengthy hospital stays and said handing out stuffed animals is a way she and her family show their gratitude and love for those caring for and dealing with the same types of struggle. “We just want our children to grow up to be able to give back and see the bigger picture,” said Tierra Thaxton, Treasure’s mother. “But that is not just about their lives but other people they can affect in a positive way.” This is the eighth year the family has made their Valentine’s Day visit.
