Man Shot in Humboldt Drive-by
Many who live along Ethridge Street in Humboldt say they heard a hail of gunfire last night, leaving behind a bloody trail. Humboldt police said just after 8:30pm, Thursday (March 3), a green Chevy Suburban drove up to a house in the 200 block of Ethridge Street and opened fire on a group of people standing outside. Officers said a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg. Myra McNeal who lives on Ethridge Street said she was inside her home playing with her grandchildren when she heard gunshots. “Some of my neighbors, couple of my neighbors has knocked on my door, really banged on my door, let me know that somebody was trying to shot them, shoot him on the outside, trying to get in, almost knocked my door down, that’s why I opened the door.” Humboldt police believe at least two people were inside the green suburban, and sped away after the shooting. Investigators are not saying what may have prompted the violence. If you have seen this vehicle or know who is responsible, call the Humboldt Police Department at (731) 784-1322 or Gibson County Crime Stoppers at (731) 855-2005.
