MS Man Charged in Minister’s Death

A former Alamo minister and his wife are being remembered after investigators said they were found murdered inside their Mississippi home. Jake Carpenter, 29, is suspected in the deaths of Fred House, 77 and his wife, Mildred. Carpenter was captured Saturday in Russellville, Alabama in a car registered to the elderly couple. Itawamba County, Mississippi investigators said the Houses’ were found dead inside their home in Fulton, late Friday night. According to his obituary, House was a minister several churches in Alabama and Tennessee, including the Alamo Church of Christ.
