Jackson Police Dept. Plan Move

The Jackson Police Department could soon be moving to a new location. Currently, certain units of the police department are based out of a building on American Drive, which is leased by the city. But those officer, as well as other units of the department could soon move to this building on East Main. According to the mayor, purchasing the downtown building would save the city more than half a million dollars in five-years and ease overcrowding at the police department’s central office. The city council is scheduled to vote on the purchasing next week.
