Jackson Police Arrest Alleged Rape Suspect

A registered sex offender is back behind bars in Jackson on a charge of rape. Victor Byndum, 40, of Jackson was arrested Wednesday afternoon. A 28-year-old man told investigators that on March 9, he left a club with Byndum and went to his house where he fell asleep, only to be awakened by Byndum performing a sex act on him. Byndum was convicted in 2000 on several charges including sexual battery by an authority figure. He will make his court appearance on the rape charge, Thursday.
