Red Light Camera Troubles in McKenzie
A red light camera in in McKenzie is being challenged for the first time since it started issuing tickets two years ago. This is the second week in a row a man has appealed a $50 ticket from the city traffic camera. Chief Bobby Pate says he doesn’t think it’s a coincidence since both the men are from Huntingdon and may have discussed the matter. Last week’s case was dismissed because the judge did not have proper evidence. Monday’s case involved a man that says the proper warning signs were not posted. However, Chief Pate says that’s simply not true and signs are in fact posted within the legal distance of the intersection. “It shows in the video that the violations committed it’s all on camera and I don’t see how they could contest it,” said Chief Pate. The traffic hearing case was scheduled to take place earlier Monday, but the man scheduled came in and paid off the ticket instead.
