McNairy Aims To Be Best In The County and District 14-AA

Many people in McNairy County are wondering if the Bobcats have the best team in the county. The Adamsville Cardinals will argue that point on September 9. McNairy will try to prove the point against other opponents until then. “Without a doubt, it‘s Liberty and Lexington. It‘s a tough district from top to bottom, but everyone is gunning for those two,” said McNairy head football coach Jim Glover. McNairy returns six offensive starters and five starters on defense. The Bobcats opened the year with a 30-point loss to St. Benedict from Memphis. However, do not let the 0-1 start fool you. McNairy expects to be a factor this fall and that is exactly what Coach Jim Glover has preached to his team the last two weeks. McNairy is off this Friday – and they will need plenty of rest for the next two weeks. They will face Liberty on September 2 before facing in county rival Adamsville. Both games are on the road, but that will not stop Coach Glover and the Bobcats from aiming for two big goals. “Every team, every year, has a chance to be a champion. It‘s putting the players in the right positions and players taking their roles seriously and perform to their capability,” said Coach Glover. “Our goal is to get over the hump and have a winning season,” Glover said. “The seniors have committed to that.”
