Lukas Rosch, 25, was a lot of things to his family: a loving son and brother, a special uncle and a devoted dog dad. But his life came to a shocking end Friday night at an apartment in the Village of Lac La Belle, where prosecutors say he was stabbed to death by his longtime girlfriend, 27-year-old Mikayla Kloth.

Kloth was charged Monday with first-degree intentional homicide.

Prosectors say the deadly incident started over an argument about dinner. Kloth allegedly said in an interview with police that she didn’t want Rosch to come over for dinner that night. Rather, she wanted to go out.

She told investigators Rosch was “pushing her buttons” when he brought chicken to her apartment, intending to cook it in the air fryer, according to a criminal complaint.

“This complaint indicates that this young lady got into an argument because he brought home chicken to eat instead of taking her out,” said Waukesha County Circuit Court Commissioner David Herring at the court hearing. “She admits, saying, ‘I stabbed him. If you have to take me to jail, OK.’”

According to the complaint, Kloth admitted to investigators she stabbed Rosch because “she was angry” and went on to say “she should have just gone to the bar, and the whole thing was just irritating.”

During the hearing, Rosch’s family expressed outrage that his death was reportedly over something so petty.

“I stand before you a shattered man,” said Matthew Rosch, the victim’s father. “Please never let that monster walk the streets ever again.”

The court set Kloth’s bond at $2 million cash. Her preliminary hearing is set for May 29.
