A Jackson man accused in a shooting outside Jimmy D’s Sports Bar in November 2011 has entered a guilty plea in the case. Travis Chapman pleaded guilty Monday to attempted second-degree murder in Madison County Circuit Court. According to Jackson police, the investigation determined that on November 23, 2011, Chapman shot a man in the stomach on the parking lot of the sports bar. Investigators said the shooting followed a fight inside the business. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was treated and released days later. Chapman was sentenced to 12 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
