Jackson Sobriety Checkpoints this Weekend

JACKSON, Tenn.- There will be more law enforcement officers on the streets this weekend in an effort to take drunk and impaired drivers off the roadways. According to Lieutenant Ronald Adams, the Traffic Safety Coordinator for the Jackson Police Department, there will be sobriety checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city Saturday and Sunday. In addition, to the sobriety checks, officers will be looking for those not using safety belts and child restraint seats as required by Tennessee law. The enforcement effort is funded by the National Traffic Safety Administration and the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
