East Tenn. History Fair to feature tours and music
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The 2013 East Tennessee History Fair is coming to Knoxville. Sponsored by the East Tennessee Historical Society, it will celebrate the region’s history with re-enactments, activities and bus and walking tours.
Highlights include free admission to museums and historical houses, musical performances, book sales and a “History Hound” dog costume contest. Children’s activities include storytelling, a cake for Davy Crockett’s 227th birthday and a musical show.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT Saturday at the East Tennessee History Center, Charles Krutch Park and various downtown locations. It is free and open to the public.
