First lady to christen new Cumberland City ferry
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – A new ferry will soon be put into service across the Cumberland River between Stewart and Houston counties.
Chrissy Haslam, the wife of Gov. Bill Haslam, will christen the vessel Friday at the Marion County yard where it was built. The ceremony at Serodino Shipyard in Guild begins at 11 a.m. CDT and will also include Tennessee Transportation Commissioner John Schroer, along with other state and local government officials.
