JACKSON, Tenn.– Crime Reports, an online crime reporting service, is back online in Jackson. The Jackson Police Department utilizes the free online reporting service that updates every morning with the latest crime reports. Crime Reports has been down since June 1 when the police station changed their computerized records management system. The Jackson Police Department encourages everyone to visit the site www.crimereports.com and enter 38301 in the search field. It will bring the Jackson map up. From there, users can build their own maps and lists using geographic areas, crimes and time frames to see what crimes are happening in the City and where. Zoom in to your neighborhood for an overview of what types, if any, crimes are occurring there. Informed and alert citizens working with Police is still the most important way to stop crime. Neither the Jackson Police Department nor Crime Reports charge for using this service. However, mobile providers’ standard charges will apply to any SMS messages sent to a mobile device. Please check your service plan and you mobile provider‘s price plan for details.
