Couple charged in child’s death

SPRING CITY, Tenn. (AP) – A Tennessee mother and her boyfriend have been charged with murder in the death of her 5-year-old boy.

Rhea County authorities told The Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/1a6nJ5S) that charges against 29-year-old Jessica Robbins and 22-year-old Bradley Adcox were upgraded Tuesday after an autopsy was performed on 5-year-old Landon Robbins. Originally the couple had been charged with abuse and neglect after they told officers the boy received his injuries in a fall.

Rhea County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Rocky Potter said the boy died Friday night and an autopsy showed the cause of death as “multiple blunt-force trauma.”

Special Projects Officer Jeff Knight says Robbins and Adcox were being held without bond until an arraignment on Friday.
