Airline to suspend some routes because of higher jet fuel costs

(CNN) – Summer air travelers face yet another inconvenience tied to the war in Iran.

Air Canada said it is suspending six routes because jet fuel prices have roughly doubled.

They include flights from Toronto and Montreal to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York starting June 1.

Air travelers will still be able to reach the New York area via LaGuardia Airport and Newark Airport in New Jersey.

The carrier said it is also pausing flights from Salt Lake City to Toronto starting June 30.

The other affected routes are between cities within Canada.
