Inside Look of Church Vandalized with Satanic Symbols

NORTH MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The words “666″ burned into a bible and “smoke meth, hail Satan were engraved on the Lebanon Methodist Church altar. Church member Kay Williams found the damage when she arrived for Sunday morning services. “They need help,” Williams said. “Jesus died for all and we don’t hate them, even though it seems like maybe they hate the church.” Williams says she walked in Sunday morning to find a window cracked open and that’s when she knew something was wrong. “The crosses on the altar table turned upside down, ashes in the collection plate,” Williams said. Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork says deputies are working to connect the dots. They say they’re not ruling out the fact that this may be a satanic ritual. “The destruction was similar to a similar burglary that happened just across the line in Gibson county at Hudson Chapel church in Medina,” Woolfork said. Williams says she has been a member of Lebanon Methodist Church all of her life. “But it also hurts my heart that there are those out there who would want to come into a house of worship and do these things,” Williams said. Williams says she forgives whoever did this to her church; and if given the opportunity she would welcome them to attend service. “God bless them,” Williams said. Sheriff Woolfork urges the public to come forward and help solve this case. He says if you know anything please contact the Madison County sheriff’s office.
