Rodney Wright seeks Republican nomination for Gibson County Sheriff

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Rodney Wright has announced his bid for Gibson County Sheriff in a letter recently shared with the public.

Rodney Wright respectfully asks for your vote as the Republican nomination for Gibson County Sheriff in the upcoming Republican Primary on May 5 with early voting beginning on Wednesday, April 15 through Thursday, April 30. Rodney promises and will deliver a new administration with a respected reputation for our community. Rodney will lead the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office in a new and positive direction with a focus on treating everyone with dignity and respect.

“We are committed to protecting our families, serving with integrity, and building a Sheriff’s Office to make the community proud. We will restore the confidence and trust of Gibson Co. citizens and officers and staff in the Sheriff’s Office by always being transparent, accountable, and professional. It would be a real honor to be the Republican nominee and to ultimately serve the People of Gibson County as their Sheriff, said Wright”.

Rodney is a lifelong Gibson County resident and conservative who began his law enforcement career with the Rutherford Police Department over 30 years ago. He and his wife Shelley have been together for 26 years and have proudly raised their two sons, Brandt and Danny, and they have two cherished grandsons. Rodney is a man of faith and a cancer survivor, which has given him personal appreciation for the importance of family, serving with gratitude, and fighting the good fight.

Rodney is the law enforcement committee member of the Milan Prevention Coalition serving all of Gibson County. He is a graduate of the Gibson County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class and a member of all three Chambers of Commerce in Gibson County. Rodney not only serves the community in his official capacity but has always participated in community events and fundraisers to assist his community and neighbors.

During Rodney’s career, he has served as a patrolman, a patrol supervisor, a criminal investigator, a criminal investigations supervisor, a Special Agent with the West TN Drug Task force for 7 years, and a member of the Tennessee Meth Task Force and the Tennessee Dangerous Drugs Task Force. He has successfully investigated crimes ranging from homicides and crimes against children, to aggravated burglaries and drug crimes. Rodney currently serves as the Senior Investigator for the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office.

“I have the experience, maturity, dedication, and leadership skills to build our Sheriff’s Office into a law enforcement agency that will make our citizens and officers proud. We will bring the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office up to date with the latest and best training and equipment, while managing your tax dollars wisely and conservatively, said Wright”.

Early voting is April 15 – 30 in Medina, Rutherford, and Trenton.
