Teacher Hit During Student Altercation

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Liberty Magnet school teacher was accidentally hit by a student on Monday, while trying to break up a fight over a stolen cell phone, according to officials. Police say the fight broke out around 10:30 a.m., when a student and his brother confronted the accused thief about the phone. Investigators say at five people were arrested in connection the altercation and sent to the juvenile detention center The teacher was not injured, according to Liberty Principal Dr. June Murray.
