JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson dad accused of leaving his toddler alone to check the score of the World Series game faced a judge on Wednesday. “As a parent it makes me sick,” Rachel Jones said, a parent and neighbor. Bryan Hunt, 24, faces child endangerment and drug charges. “I think it was a mistake,” said a neighbor, who didn‘t want to give his name. “I mean we all make mistakes.” Around 11 p.m. Monday Jackson police say someone found Hunt‘s daughter in the parking lot at an apartment complex on Old Hickory Boulevard. The allegations outraged some parents. “I can’t, I can’t imagine it,” said Jones. According to an affidavit, Hunt told officers he left his daughter asleep in the apartment to go check the score of the World Series at a friend‘s house. “I mean I know it happens, but I still can’t see how somebody could do that,” said Jones. “I mean they’re 3-years-old and they can’t fend for themselves.” Police say they also found marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia inside Hunt‘s apartment. “It’s none of my business, but it’s just a sad story,” said a neighbor. “You never know what’s going on inside,” said Jones. The judge set Hunt‘s bond at $250,000. We‘re told the 3-year-old is now with her mother. Hunt is scheduled to return to court Nov. 14.
