“Room in the Inn” Provides Shelter for Homeless Men

JACKSON, Tenn. — Churches are preparing for the up coming winter months to provide free shelter for homeless men in Jackson. The program, called “Room in the Inn” is a partnership between Area Relief Ministries and local churches. Congregations host homeless men overnight and provide dinner and fellowship. “From this day( November 1) until April 30, every single night they will have shelter so they don’t have to scrounge around to find a warm place to sleep,” Program Coordinator Gary Ross said. “They know that they are welcome here.” Members of the ministry say they have served more than 130 homeless men with 5,000 beds and 9,000 meals.
